NEXT MEETING OF THE TARC IS 07 September, 2019 At Rio Vista Park

Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at 7:30pm of most months at the Farmington Fire Station #6 on the west end of Farmington NM on the South side of Main Street (US 64).

The meeting was called to order by Donnie KJ5GQ, at 19:30.

There were 13 attendees.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s report for was read by Bobbie N5XDQ.

Motion to accept Treasurer’s Report made by Paull NM5PH, Seconded by Bill KK5ZH, Motion Passed.

Secretary’s Report

Motion made by Bill KK5ZH to accept the minutes as posted, Seconded by Bobbie N5XDQ Motion Passed.

Old Business:

  • Field Day – Our Field Day this year was successful, with many contacts made even though the weather was cold and wet.
  • Hwy Cleanup – The Highway cleanup was successful. Thank you to the Harveys for helping out!
  • Tailgate, Picnic, and Potluck – Our annual get together will be on Sept 7th this year at 10am. We have the park reserved until 1pm. Bring an appetite and a dish to share; we hope to see you there.
  • VE Testing – There are two upcoming test sessions
  • Sept 14th in Durango at 1:00 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road, Durango, CO 81301.
  • November 16th in Farmington at 9:30 am at Sycamore park.

New Business

  • Albuquerque Tailgate– Bill went to the tailgate in Albuquerque and said that it was good and a good time was had by all.
  • Duke City Hamfest – The Duke City Hamfest is scheduled for September 20th – 22nd in Albuquerque. Don’t forget to mark your calendar.
  • Club Jackets – Inspired by a question from Sturge, Don asked the group if there was any interest in getting club jackets and possibly hats made. Bobbi says she does not know who did it before.
    • Some possible sources mentioned included:
      • Springtee (An internet business)
      • A new shop in town across from west Walmart.
      • Advertising Ideas
      • Various other vendors accessible by internet search, in order to comparison shop
      • An embroidering service ran by Alan Hall who Mike KG5WYJ has done business with in the past
    • It was also mentioned that reasons for going with local vendors could include convenience and being able to order one item at a time after the initial run.

Motion to Adjourn was made by Bill KK5ZH and seconded by Bobbie N5XDQ and was passed at 7:54 pm.
